Karbon Kredit Ventures is working on an initiative to distribute ICS (Improved Cook Stove) to people living in rural Geographies of India and using old traditional cook stoves which emits hazardous smoke and claim their precious life. This old stoves also harm environment at a large extent as more fuel (Majorly wood) is used in these stoves and it leads deforestation.
Karbon Kredit Ventures is currently active in Madhya Pradesh and has changed life of thousands of people belonging to bottom of the pyramid and under privileged areas of Madhya Pradesh till now
As per the National Institutes of health data over two thirds of all households in India (about 170 million households, or nearly 800 million people) cook on traditional stoves using solid bio-fuels such as wood, agricultural waste, coal and dried cattle manure. This practice can adversely impact respiratory health of individuals and local forests and other environmental resources, as well as contribute to climate change.
To confront these negative impacts, we have sought to disseminate and distribute the improved cook stoves at zero cost
Karbon Kredit Ventures is working consistently with mission
- To distribute ICS (Improved Cook Stoves) to people belonging to the bottom of the pyramid of the society and tribal/under privileged geographies of India who are using old traditional cook stoves
- Help beneficiaries in reducing the time and cost of collecting or buying the firewood for old traditional cook stoves.
- To reduce several dangerous respiratory diseases among old traditional mud cook stove users.
- Reduce Deforestation by reducing use of firewood through ICS (Improved Cook Stoves).
- Reduce carbon emissions from traditional cook stoves by replacing them with ICS (Improved Cook Stoves).
